Life Soundtrack

Labels: Blogging ,

In preparing for D's big b-day weekend I had him create a soundtrack to his life (this far) and we gave them as party favors. What's a life soundtrack you ask? It's a compilation of songs that would play in the background of your life if it was made into a movie. Dave's list included:

Cat Stevens

Tom Petty

John Denver

Bob Marley & The Wailers

Pink Floyd

As you can see soundtracks can be quite insightful. So what would be on yours and why?

Several Hymns and Bed Time songs - my Mom use to sing to me and still does.

Lots of old country like Linda Ronstadt, Patsy Cline and Ann Maury also Cat Stevens- Young Childhood

Journey (Open Arms) - Back when Roller Rinks where cool

Van Helen and Motley - Junior High

Scorpions and Led Zeppelin (Still favorites) - High School and beyond ;)

Camper Van Beethoven - Come on? "Take The Skinheads Bowling" No explanation needed.

Stained - Helped me through some angry times

Cheep Trick, Sting/The Police, Lots of Blues and Heavy Metal

Ok this post is already to long...lets just say too many to list

I talk WAY too much about absolutely nothing, but it's my own way of getting to what actually matters. Too analytical but at times it comes in handy. Enjoy hearing peoples stories. Get bugged by stereo-type people. Bad speller. Secretly lazy. Quasi OCD. Carry a constant frustration for the marginalization within America. Sarcastic. Suffer from (UL) aka uncontrollable laughter...never know when it's going to hit.

On my night stand

  • Foster's: Celebration of Discipline
  • Gawande's : Better
  • Macarthur's: New Testiment Commentary
  • Orman: Women & Money
  • Pausch's: The Last Lecture
  • Rowling's: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
  • Safran's: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
  • Young's: The Shack
