Thanks for the Cancer

10/20/2008
Last week was nurse appreciation week (day?). Since Hubs works at a local hospital he came home bearing gifts.

All the nurses at his hospital were given these mugs as a gesture of appreciation. Seems nice at first glance, until you read the fine print.

Fine print is so fine I will print it out again for you:

"California law requires this warning: This product contains a chemical known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harms."

hmm...not exactly the gesture of appreciation one expects, especially for a healthcare provider from a healthcare provider.
Hubs informed me that none of the nurses took these home except him and he said once I was done blogging to "toss it".

Occupational WhooHa

8/28/2007
For some reason I've been thinking about jobs/occupations a lot lately. I don't think this is because I'm not working (I do work) or because I hate my career b/c I love teaching college students. I just find my mind gravitating towards occupations when I day dream. I'm sure you've done it too. Perhaps my subconscious is working something out?! Who knows. Anyways, I would like to know what kind of jobs/occupations/careers you dream about. What's your dream job? What would you do if money wasn't a factor? What have you always wanted to just try? If you could temp anywhere for 3 months where would it be? Who would you love to work with?

I talk WAY too much about absolutely nothing, but it's my own way of getting to what actually matters. Too analytical but at times it comes in handy. Enjoy hearing peoples stories. Get bugged by stereo-type people. Bad speller. Secretly lazy. Quasi OCD. Carry a constant frustration for the marginalization within America. Sarcastic. Suffer from (UL) aka uncontrollable laughter...never know when it's going to hit.
