What was the best gift you've ever been given?
I'm a practical gal so I tend to enjoy practical gifts (this is a new discovery for me). Which is why I totally feel in love when my mom gave me this for the new year! It may very well be the best gift I've ever been given.

I like practical gifts, too. Stuff for my kitchen, my house (I got a much needed coffee table for Christmas). I love gift certificates to Costco! OH, and books!!! I received the complete collection of Jane Austen for Christmas and LOVE it.
I really like Francine Rivers books, too. I'd take one as a gift any day!

I too like practical gifts. Well, practical things that I wouldn't get for myself otherwise. The year before last, Jon gave me a day with a "wardrobe consultant" where we went shopping and figured out what works for me and what doesn't and then she helped me spend my $. I was slightly offended (ummm, hello, are you trying to tell me that you don't like how I'm dressing myself lately!?!) but then I got over it when Margaret (my wardrobe stylist friend) actually helped me look a heck of a lot better. Now, when I need to look GOOD, I can (I say as I'm sitting here in pj pants circa 1997 and Jon's old, holey, sweatshirt)
