Today I wanted to share with you a news story that was highlighted throughout the conference. The story can be found on NPR (national public radio) and it truly is unforgettable.
To Sum: Social worker is robed while getting off the subway. He willingly gives his wallet then offers his jacket! Yup that's right. "If you're going to be robbing people for the rest of the night, you might as well take my coat to keep you warm." Diaz (social worker) then proceeds to take the young man to dinner. I can only guess this left the young kid dazed and overwhelmed, but mostly changed.
When was the last time you seized a moment? How many times do we waste moments?
The story left me wondering how many times in life I have wasted opportunities to love people, all kinds of people, people I view as unsafe, difficult, or unimportant. The story also left me reflecting on how much I hoard and how often I truly value my "things". hmm...

I encourage you to read the story because the message is really in the details and I did not do the details justice.
