Speaking of technicalities, that is a Nintendo DS. The Game Boy was released in 1989 and there have been several iterations since then: Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Pocket, Game Boy Advance, Game Boy Advance SP, and Game Boy Micro. The DS is a separate line of portable console. :)
